MINUTES
The monthly meeting of the Victor Alfieri Society’s General Membership Meeting was held Wednesday, May 26, 2010 in the Bocce Lounge. President Joe DeAntona called the meeting to order at 8:00 o’clock. All members recited the Pledge of Allegiance.

A motion to accept the April minutes by Jerry Auriemma, 2nd by Sam Tomaino. Motion passed.

The membership applications were read by President DeAntona. There are 8 applicants applying for membership into the Victor Alfieri Society.

A motion to accept 5 regular members and 3 social members into the Victor Alfieri Society by Peter Arvonio, 2nd by Ron Quattrone, on the question; it was agreed upon by the entire body to forgive the first year of membership to Steven Carroll due to this deployment to Afghanistan; therefore he will not pay dues for next year 2011. Steven will begin paying dues for the year 2012. Motion passed.
Committee Reports
A. House Committee
In the absence of Bob Mecca, President DeAntona read Bob’s Spaghetti Dinner Report. The two day event, another record breaker, realized a profit of $4,610.00, an increase of $675.00 over last year’s record breaking profit. President DeAntona congratulated all volunteers, especially Louis Lanzo and Frank Ruggiero for their long dedicated and loyal hours to this event.
The monthly luncheon is set for tomorrow and another crowd of 175 plus are expected to dine on the Victor Alfieri Specialty, “Tripe” prepared by Louis Lanzo and Frank Ruggiero.
B. Building Committee
Joe DeAntona reported that Bob Mecca was talking to contractor Joe Iacavazzi about remodeling the ladies room on the clubs 2nd floor. We will have Joe Iacavazzi give us a bid for the job.

C. Social Committee
Paul DeAntona explains on Saturday, July 17th the club will have clambake, a Festa. Time and menu will be available at the June meeting. The cost will be $30.00 per person, includes beer, wine, soda, food, a dozen clams, Italian music and of course, Bocce. Paul is asking that you commit and pay by July 10th so we may have an accurate count for food and supplies.
Paul elaborated on the $25.00 Bocce fee for maintenance of the courts. The fee covers keeping the grounds clean and neat of vegetation and debris, as well as the courts scrapped and rolled prior to the start of games. Also, sometime in the future a committee will investigate the upgrading on the base of the courts, but cost will play a factor for when this can be done.
Jerry Auriemma reported final numbers for Dino, Vino and Friends for Sunday afternoon of April 18th of $293.00 profit.
Jerry met with PLCB on the expansion of the liquor license and all necessary paperwork is filed with the PLCB, and we await approval.

Old Business
Joe Spinelli said an anniversary meeting will be coming in the next month or so. A date and time will be announced by e-mail as well as word of mouth.
A question about Mike Ricci blocking e-mail addresses going out to the public was asked? The committee will check and report at next meeting.
Good & Welfare
A recommendation to donate a $250.00 ad from the Victor Alfieri Society to the Unico National Convention Ad Book honoring Chris DiMattio as National President for 2010-2011. A motion to donate $250.00 for the Unico ad book by Tom Carlucci, 2nd by Jerry Auriemma. Motion passed.
Paul DeAntona reported member Scott Brier donated the Bust of Michelangelo’s David, in honor of his mother, to the Victor Alfieri Bocce Lounge. David will join
Also, a member who wishes to remain anonymous donated $500.00 towards the stereo system and speakers, which just about covered the total cost.
The regular membership meeting in June will be the last for the summer. No regular meetings in July and August.
The monthly luncheons will continue through the summer months.
